MENL conference on the latest developments in South African politics where Dr Dan Roodt South African author, lecturer and political activist will be our guest speaker.
Dr. Dan Roodt is a South African author and political activist who has been campaigning for freedom of speech, as well as the fair and equal treatment of all ethnic groups in South Africa. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, as well as a D.E.A. in French philosophy from the University of Paris. During the 1980s and 1990s he worked in finance, resigning in 1999 as Head of Derivative Markets at Citibank’s Johannesburg office to found the NGO, PRAAG (Pro-Afrikaans Action Group). He has been a municipal candidate for the Freedom Front in Johannesburg, but is not currently a member of any political party. Apart from writing and translating more than ten books, he has also published more than a million words on the internet. His next book will be on the issue of whether the violence against farmers and other minorities in South Africa might be seen as a genocide or not. Since the early 2000s he has been a regular speaker at political conferences in both the USA and Europe.
